Immigration Psychological Evaluations

$1,000

Immigration psychological evaluations are formal clinical assessments conducted by a licensed mental health professional for use in immigration-related legal proceedings. These evaluations document relevant psychological history, current mental health functioning, and clinical observations that may be considered by attorneys, immigration courts, or government adjudicators as part of a broader legal process.

Evaluations are completed using structured clinical interviews and, when appropriate, standardized assessment instruments. Reports are prepared in accordance with professional and ethical standards and are intended to provide objective psychological information, rather than legal opinions or advocacy.

Immigration psychological evaluations may be requested in connection with a range of immigration applications and proceedings, including:

  • I-601 and I-601A hardship waivers

  • Asylum applications

  • VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) self-petitions

  • U-Visa applications

  • T-Visa applications

  • Cancellation of removal cases

The evaluator’s role is limited to assessing and documenting psychological factors relevant to the referral question and does not include determining legal eligibility or outcomes.

Services are available in English and Spanish. Evaluations may be conducted in person or via secure telehealth, depending on location and case requirements.

Dr. Teran offers individual and couples therapy via secure California telehealth, grounded in an attachment-oriented framework and tailored to support a wide range of mental health concerns and personal challenges.

At the heart of her approach is the therapeutic relationship itself, a space where clients feel safe, seen, and supported. She works to build a secure therapeutic connection that can serve as a model for healthier, more secure relationships in other areas of a client's life.

Dr. Teran has a particular focus on individuals navigating major life transitions, times when questions of identity, purpose, and belonging often surface. She also works closely with those who have experienced childhood trauma or family ruptures, especially where attachment wounds continue to shape present-day emotions and relationships. These early experiences are approached not as fixed narratives, but as opportunities for healing, growth, and transformation. Together with her clients, Dr. Teran explores how the past informs the present while building new, more secure patterns of connection, regulation, and self-understanding.
